The Belle Chasse Cardinals lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Slidell on the road and fell 80-47. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Despite the loss, Belle Chasse still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Hughes Ingram, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Reeves, who scored nine points.
Jaden Hookfin was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Slidell. Zay Bartee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Belle Chasse and nudges their season record down to 14-9. As for Slidell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belle Chasse will take on Lutcher at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Slidell, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Bourgeois at 6:10 p.m. on January 20th. Bourgeois is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
