Carrollton dropped down to 12-3 on Monday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 72-40 loss at the hands of the Hamilton/Warsaw Titans. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Titans are ranked 18th).

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Driskill, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe McAdams, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

As for Hamilton/Warsaw, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hamilton/Warsaw found their leader in freshman Maci Haas, who earned 22 points. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Climer, who scored 15 points.

Carrollton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-29 defeat against Illini Bluffs on the 30th. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, they have also already played their next contest, a 69-47 victory against Brown County on the 30th.
