In what's become a running theme this season, the Caney Valley Bullpups gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Riverfield Country Day 64-35 on the road. Given Caney Valley's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 136th in Kansas, while Riverfield Country Day is ranked 446th in Oklahoma), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverfield Country Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicya Moore, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Clark, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Caney Valley, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Riverfield Country Day, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Caney Valley will head out on the road to square off against Eureka on Tuesday. Riverfield Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Barnsdall at 10:00 a.m. on January 19th.
