The Cigarroa Toros will be playing at home against the Martin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Cigarroa was able to grind out a solid win over Roma, taking the game 57-49.
Meanwhile, Martin waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 36-35 victory over Palmview. The win was all the more spectacular given Martin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 769th, while Palmview is ranked 185th).
Kiara Gonzalez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Martin's points. Priscilla Torres was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Cigarroa's victory bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Martin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-16 record this season.
Cigarroa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Martin when the teams last played on January 2nd, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. Does Cigarroa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Martin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
