Gainesville has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hylton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cardinals will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Gainesville has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Patriot hit Gainesville with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell 11-8 to the Pioneers. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cameryn Denhup and Mia Farhat (UMW) stepped up to the plate in a big way. Denhup went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Farhat (UMW) went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Farhat (UMW)'s first of the season. Corrine Robinson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hylton's offense. They fell just short of Charles J. Colgan by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Hylton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayel Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Hylton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Gainesville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gainesville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Hylton struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Gainesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Hylton in their previous meeting back in March, winning 13-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
