Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Herndon Hornets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 37-7 loss at the hands of the Warhawks. While losing is never fun, Herndon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 91st, while James Madison is ranked 11th).
Johnny Callow threw for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Dominic Knicely continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for James Madison, rushing for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.
Herndon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for James Madison, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Herndon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. James Madison will be playing at home against Westfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westfield's defense has only allowed 10.4 points per game this season, so James Madison's offense will have their work cut out for James Madison.
