In what's become a running theme this season, the Omaha Westside Warriors gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Omaha South with a sharp 64-40 victory. With Omaha Westside ahead 38-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Leading Omaha Westside to victory were Elise Pederson and Kara Stricklin. Pederson scored 14 points, while Stricklin scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pederson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakelyn Joslin, who scored five points along with four steals.
Omaha Westside has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Omaha South, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7.
Omaha Westside will be playing in front of their home fans against Millard North on Tuesday. Omaha South won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Millard South at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. Millard South is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
