The Little River Redskins proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 27) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 victory over Goessel. The win made it back-to-back wins for Little River.
It was another big night for Andrew Smith, who scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Ty Janette was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Little River's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Goessel, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Little River will take on Canton-Galva at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Little River is ranked 227th, while Canton-Galva is ranked 248th). As for Goessel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elyria Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elyria Christian will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Goessel surely won't give up without a fight.
