AAA District 12 recap November 13, 2013
Overton added to the longest winning streak in AAA District 12 this week by beating McGavock, 30-0. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Bobcats.
Hillsboro and Beech played the most contested game in the league this week, with Hillsboro eventually emerging with a 31-26 victory.
The Raiders' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dustin McAbee threw for 197 yards and Chris Claybrooks had 115 yards receiving. On the ground McAbee chipped in 71 yards. Justin Bowler helped McGavock's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
McGavock's dynamic duo of McAbee and Claybrooks proved to be unstoppable against Overton, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bowler helped McGavock's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Evan Gowdy made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jay Gore's team fell to the Bobcats. He pulled down 1 interception.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Burros' Michael Hughes and Jay King have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Hughes has thrown for 1,694 yards this season, while King has 24 catches for 496 yards. Nick Fuqua from Cane Ridge leads the league in rushing with 1,529 yards.
Hillsboro led AAA District 12 in scoring this week after putting up 31 points on the Buccaneers.
