Hunter Delcour was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Adam Mock looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.
Back at the plate, Jimmy Lackey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Whalen Havlerson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, West Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 12-2 to South Anchorage on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Liam Irish made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
