There's no place like home for the Manvel Mavericks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against La Porte by a score of 55-48 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Manvel, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, La Porte had strong showings from Trent Callies, who scored 18 points along with eight steals, and Phillip Ned, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Callies is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Pray, who scored five points.
La Porte struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Manvel's win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for La Porte, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ball the next time they take the court. Manvel will head out to face the Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
