The Lewis-Palmer Rangers's game on Thursday was all tied up 32-32 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Discovery Canyon. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lewis-Palmer lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cohen Edmondson, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Johnson, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Discovery Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Eckles, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. Nick Martidis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine assists and six steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Lewis-Palmer and nudges their season record down to 12-6. As for Discovery Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Air Academy the next time they take the court. Discovery Canyon will host Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lewis-Palmer will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
