Franklin hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost five straight dating back to last season) but thanks in part to Calvin Carraher that streak is no more. The Flyers breezed past the Axtell Wildcats to the tune of 62-8 on Thursday for which the team can thank Carraher, who rushed for 152 yards and four scores on only nine carries, and also threw for 61 yards and a pair of TDs. Franklin is undefeated when Carraher posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.
Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aragorn Green and Caiden Peterman. Peterman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Franklin back to even at 4-4. As for Axtell, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
As of now, neither Franklin nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
