Whitesboro is 10-0 against S & S Consolidated since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Whitesboro Bearcats will head out on the road to challenge the S & S Consolidated Rams at 6:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 66 points the game before, Whitesboro were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 53-24 loss at the hands of Ponder. While losing is never fun, Whitesboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while Ponder is ranked 200th).
Meanwhile, S & S Consolidated's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ponder, falling 97-27. S & S Consolidated was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-11.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joe Orr, who scored eight points.
Whitesboro's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-10. As for S & S Consolidated, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-23 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Whitesboro against S & S Consolidated when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 74-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitesboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
