Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Fowler Grizzlies, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 52-0 loss at the hands of Mancos on Friday. Fowler's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Gage Gottbehuet threw for 73 yards on six of 17 attempts. Cael True was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Kail Wayman, who rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Chris Medina also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Fowler's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mancos, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Fowler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mancos will be playing in front of their home fans against Sedgwick County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sedgwick County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
