David Hodo threw for four touchdowns as
Wayne County (Waynesboro, Miss.) defeated Gautier (Miss.) 58-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Hodo to
Dejarvis Chambers in the first quarter, the War Eagles led 38-0 at the half.
Wayne County grew its lead to 52 points entering the fourth quarter. WC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Reggie Stewart to
Javonta McCann.
With the win the Waynesboro school extended its winning streak to eight games. Wayne County defeated South Jones 50-0 last week.
Hodo played well for the War Eagles in the victory. The junior quarterback threw four touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Gautier's lone touchdown came on a 28-yard pass from Jamyrian Quinn to Kyler Hughes in the fourth quarter.
Wayne County came into the game allowing 14.5 points per game. The seven points that the Gators ended with were well below their average of 21.6 coming into the game.
