Roxana came into Thursday's match having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the East Alton-Wood River Oilers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Roxana easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Tatum Shaw and Leah Newton, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Daisy Daugherty and her 19 assists.

Roxana's win bumped their record up to 8-20. As for East Alton-Wood River, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-27-1.

Roxana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Metro-East Lutheran on the 18th. As for East Alton-Wood River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
