The Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Claiborne Christian Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gibsland-Coleman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Family Community Christian 72-44 on the road.
Gibsland-Coleman can attribute much of their success to Baleigh Haulcy, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Samora Sampson, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sampson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shamaria Durham, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Claiborne Christian put another one in the bag last Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Saline 49-26. Claiborne Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Gibsland-Coleman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Claiborne Christian, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-0.
Everything came up roses for Gibsland-Coleman against the Crusaders when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gibsland-Coleman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
