The California Military Institute Rough Riders lost against the Temecula Prep Patriots back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. California Military Institute took a 13-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Temecula Prep. California Military Institute has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, California Military Institute saw an underclassman step up: Manuel Velasquez rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Velasquez hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Temecula Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vince Warren, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. Warren was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
California Military Institute has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Temecula Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
California Military Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Temecula Prep will head out on the road to face off against Artesia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
