For the first time this season, Chatfield will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Arvada West Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chatfield will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Chatfield barely beat Monarch the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chargers put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 11-4 victory on Monday. While the Chargers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Chatfield got a massive performance out of Colin Metz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The Chargers are undefeated when Metz posts one or more home runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaac Low, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Arvada West's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fort Collins by a score of 5-4.
Keegan Millikan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Cameron Thornton was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Chatfield pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Arvada West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chatfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Arvada West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Chatfield couldn't quite finish off Arvada West when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Will the Chargers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
