The ALA - West Foothills Guardians will head out to challenge the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, ALA - West Foothills made easy work of Holbrook and carried off a 17-2 win.
Ava LaHair was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. LaHair was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, ALA - West Foothills got a massive performance out of Ave Risati, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Risati has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Madelyn Caines was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
ALA - West Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bourgade Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Chargers.
Camila Quinonez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Bourgade Catholic let Brianna Torres and Maya Macias run wild. Torres went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Macias got on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Torres has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Durazo, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
ALA - West Foothills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bourgade Catholic, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. ALA - West Foothills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bourgade Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
ALA - West Foothills skirted past Bourgade Catholic 4-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Guardians repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
