The Cape Fear Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Cape Fear lost to Triton on the road by a decisive 56-38 margin.
Rico McDonald put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Tucker, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
Even though Fairmont has not done well against Lumberton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Fairmont walked away with a 57-45 victory over Lumberton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fairmont.
Their wins bumped Cape Fear to 1-2 and Triton to 3-1.
Cape Fear beat Fairmont 65-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cape Fear since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
