This season hasn't been kind to the Liberty Eagles, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They were beaten by James Wood 77-20 on Monday. Liberty was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.
Leading James Wood to victory were Josie Russell and Brooklynn Medina. Russell dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Medina scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayah Edwards, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Liberty bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for James Wood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty's road trip will continue as they head out to face Handley at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for James Wood, they will challenge Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
