The Milton Panthers waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over Pace. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Pace is ranked 596th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mateo Robinson, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Jaylen mckinley, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Milton's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Pace, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milton will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Crestview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three matchups. As for Pace, they will head out on the road to take on Tate at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tate has four straight wins, Pace has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
