The Mesa Jackrabbits will head out on the road to take on the Casteel Colts at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Casteel took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mesa, who comes in off a win.
Mesa made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valley Vista, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Mesa's way against Valley Vista two weeks ago as Mesa made off with a 31-11 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Jackrabbits as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Mesa got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Isom, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, five RBI, and three doubles. The dominant performance gave Isom a new career-high in doubles. Leah Alcala was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-5.
Isom wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. They got 15 more hits than Valley Vista's also-impressive total of 12.
Meanwhile, Casteel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Horizon.
Casteel got a big performance out of Jordin Branch, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Branch's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Fullton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Casteel's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Mesa, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Casteel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mesa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Casteel, though, as they've only averaged .340. Will they be able to contain Mesa's hitters?
Mesa suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Casteel when the teams last played back in February of 2018. Can Mesa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
