The Legacy Christian Academy Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Yellow Springs Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Legacy Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Legacy Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Dayton Christian by a score of 13-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Knights have posted against the WARRIORS since April 21, 2022.
Emily McFadden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). McFadden was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ali Solomon, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Esther Augustine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Legacy Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Yellow Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Middletown Christian, falling 22-8.
Legacy Christian Academy's record is now 2-4. As for Yellow Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Legacy Christian Academy's way against Yellow Springs in their previous matchup on April 8th, as Legacy Christian Academy made off with a 21-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
