It was a good run, but The Scappoose Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 46-29 bruising from Tillamook. Scappoose lost against Tillamook in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 17-14 score last time.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayden Baker, who rushed for 61 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Max Nowlin, who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown.
Scappoose's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Tillamook, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scappoose will face off against Astoria at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Astoria is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Tillamook, they will head out on the road to face off against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
