After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodcreek, The Antelope Titans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They breezed by River Valley at home to the tune of 42-12. Antelope's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Antelope can attribute much of their success to David Whitten, who threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Whitten was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevon Watson, who gained 61 total yards and two touchdowns.
River Valley's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jackson Mcpeak, who rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 173 yards and a touchdown.
Antelope is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record this season. As for River Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antelope will challenge Inderkum at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Inderkum is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games. As for River Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Yuba City at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
