It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 28-7 walloping at the hands of the Bulldogs on Saturday. Saint Stephen's Episcopal's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Saint Stephen's Episcopal still got an impressive performance from Evan Brown, who rushed for 184 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Brown hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Mount Dora Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Cline, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Roach, who threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Another reason for the win was Mount Dora Christian Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Bryan Schutte was the leader with two sacks.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
