Baseball Recap: East Pennsboro Starts Season with Loss on the Road

East Pennsboro had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Central Dauphin Rams by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Lucas Martz and Jovi DeJesus stepped up to the plate in a big way. Martz scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while DeJesus scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Martz a new career-high. Eric Foster Jr. was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Looking ahead, East Pennsboro will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Boiling Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central Dauphin, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Penn Manor at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
