Saint Francis Catholic stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Countryside Christian 73-36 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-20.
Saint Francis Catholic's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Liam Banks, who scored 22 points, and Jonah Powers, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powers has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Thomas, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Gainesville Christian Community's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Corinth Christian Academy on the road and fell 64-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Gainesville Christian Community has suffered yet this season.
Saint Francis Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Gainesville Christian Community, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Saint Francis Catholic against Gainesville Christian Community when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 63-27 victory.
