Baseball Recap: Maplewood's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Maplewood nor Cochranton made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Cardinals. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three games in a row.

Paul Hirosky was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Elijah Hochstetler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Maplewood's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Cochranton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maplewood will face off against rival Rocky Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cochranton is set to challenge their familiar foe Cambridge Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
