However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Bristol Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Calvary Christian Academy Cougars at 3:45 p.m. Bristol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Bristol will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Church Farm on Monday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Griffens with a sharp 16-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Griffens: they've now won four in a row.
Hayden Scancella was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Scancella was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Bristol got a massive performance out of Eddy Diaz, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Diaz a new career-high. Cole Guy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy scored first but ultimately less than The Pilgrim Academy in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 4-3.
Like Bristol, Calvary Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Caleb Rose. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Rose gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Kenneth Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season.
The victory got Bristol back to even at 2-2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Bristol was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
