Warren hasn't had much luck against Monticello recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lumberjacks will head out to face off against the Billies at 5:00 p.m. Warren is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Warren was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Crossett on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks blew past the Eagles 14-4. The Lumberjacks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Ember Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Reep, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Monticello came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Billies have posted since March 21st.
Ashley Hales was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Monticello's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Warren, their record now sits at 12-4.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Warren hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like Monticello struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Warren suffered a grim 20-9 defeat to Monticello in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
