The Page Sand Devils will take on the Round Valley Elks at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Page had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt El Capitan on Monday. The Sand Devils put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Sand Devils haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
El Capitan's batters probably weren't too happy with Kellen Cummings, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up four walks).
On the hitting side, Kevin Sam was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Hunter Billah was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Round Valley put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Many Farms. The Elks were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Lobos.
Lane Hill was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Round Valley got a massive performance out of Seth Whitaker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Whitaker's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Trace Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Round Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .897. They are 15-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Round Valley's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Page, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Page has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Round Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Page might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Round Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Sand Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
