The Venice Indians were the 62-55 winner over the Booker Tornadoes when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Venice fell 61-48 to Booker on Friday. Venice has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jovan Palavra was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points for Booker. Palavra is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Jamareon Ruffin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Venice has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Booker, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venice will challenge Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bayshore at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
