Top 50 Class of 2024 prospect
Morez Johnson continued to prove why he is one of the most prolific rebounders in high school basketball this spring as the 6-foot-9 forward led the Nike EYBL in rebounding, hauling in 166 boards across 17 games of regular season action.
The Illinois commit recorded double-digit rebounds in seven games for Meanstreets and posted one of the most impressive statlines of the EYBL 17U circuit by posting 25 points and 22 rebounds in an 82-75 victory over New York Renaissance during Session 4.
Last season, Johnson averaged 17.2 points and 12.1 rebounds to help
St. Rita (Chicago) finish the season with a record of 23-11. Johnson posted 20 double-doubles during his junior campaign to earn first team Chicago Sun-Times all-state honors.
Regarded as the No. 46 prospect in the Class of 2024, Johnson announced he will transfer to
Thornton (Harvey, Ill.) for his senior where he will play for his club team coach Tai Streets. He looks to help elevate the Wildcats after the team finished fourth in the Southland Conference with an overall record of 14-12 last season.
The top-ranked prospect in the Class of 2024 from the Prairie State will have a strong opportunity to make his case for MaxPreps Illinois Player of the Year next season as a senior.
