Hermiston is 0-10 against Richland since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Bombers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Hermiston made easy work of Walla Walla and carried off a 19-2 win. The Bulldogs have beaten the Blue Devils the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Devils has come to flipping the script.
Piper Roberts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Roberts was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kenley Venoy was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Emerick, who went 3-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Hermiston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
14 must be Richland's lucky number: they beat Kennewick with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Bombers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Lions. The victory was familiar territory for the Bombers, who have now won four games in a row.
Sophia Sams and Ali Evans made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Sams pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Evans tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Sams has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Sams went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Evans went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Payton Chacon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Brooklynn Boyce was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Richland pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Hermiston, their record now sits at 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hermiston has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hermiston might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Richland in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
