Orange Glen took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tri-City Christian Eagles 55-12. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orange Glen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abraham Cervantes, who rushed for 101 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Altair Samano was another major influence, as he rushed for 60 yards and ran in a TD.
Another reason for the win was Orange Glen's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Noah Reynoso, DeLaTorre Israel, and Angel Ventura, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Tri-City Christian's side was Reynoso, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Coming up, Orange Glen will head out on the road to square off against Morse at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tri-City Christian, they will be playing at home against The Meadows School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
