The Glenrock Herders lost against the Newcastle Dogies back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Glenrock took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newcastle. Glenrock has not had much luck with Newcastle recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Newcastle's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayde Harrington, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sydney Pederson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Glenrock dropped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Newcastle, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenrock will face off against Rawlins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Rawlins is ranked 51st, while Glenrock is ranked 46th). As for Newcastle, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wheatland at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th.
