The Richton Rebels waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged East Central out 50-47. Given Richton's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while East Central is ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daylin Carter, who scored 13 points. Carter hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Dakota Amos was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Richton pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for East Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Richton and Greene County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greene County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.4 points per game. East Central and Stone will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Stone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
