Volleyball Recap: Cascade Has No Trouble Against Southmont

Cascade barely beat Southmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cadets put the hurt on the Mounties with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Mounties recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

One reason for the win was Cascade's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-10.

Cascade had a senior duo take command as Suzy Moore had 16 digs and one assist and Taylor Rose had eight digs.

Cascade was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last 11 matches.

Cascade's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Southmont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Cascade and Southmont could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Cadets (ranked 128th) will meet Greencastle (ranked 48th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southmont will square off against Western Boone at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (336 vs. 125).
