Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Williston walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lafayette Hornets 42-14. Considering the Red Devils have won eight contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Williston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was J'Dyen Manneh, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown. Manneh showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 68 yards.
Another reason for the win was Williston's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ramey Webb and Player #28, who racked up six sacks between them. Maverick Jones was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
