The Mullins Auctioneers will face off against the Hampton County Hurricanes on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mullins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to Lake Marion for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-45 victory. Things were looking grim for the Auctioneers in the first quarter (they were down by 31) but they stormed back to get the contest.

Mullins can attribute much of their success to Deyon Ford, who shot 67% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals, and Dakarai Worley, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Worley is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 20 games he's played. Amir Lee was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Mullins was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are 18-3 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Hampton County came tearing into Friday's game with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.1 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 69-39 win over the Patriots.
Hampton County's win came from a few key players that Mullins will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacquain Solomon, who posted 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Brooks, who put up 18 points.
Mullins' victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Hampton County, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Mullins hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.7 points per game. However, it's not like Hampton County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Mullins came up short against Hampton County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 75-70. Thankfully for the Auctioneers, Kavon Chisolm (who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
