When it comes to explaining why Kern Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is ED Bunting. Despite the final result, he scored eight points.
California City found their leader in underclassman Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brown pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty'Ron 'Eraser' Jones, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds and five blocks.
Kern Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for California City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Kern Valley will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Union is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for California City, they will be playing at home against Boron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
