The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles were the 57-51 winner over the Battle Creek Braves when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lutheran-Northeast took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Battle Creek. Lutheran-Northeast has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Lutheran-Northeast lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josh Rojas, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Rojas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Ian Mcdoanld was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Lutheran-Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Battle Creek, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran-Northeast the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fullerton on January 25th. Battle Creek won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Howells-Dodge at 7:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Howells-Dodge is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
