This season hasn't been kind to the Somerset Tech Jaguars, who are still winless after their seventh match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 41-21 walloping at the hands of Dunellen on Monday. While losing is never fun, Somerset Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Dunellen is ranked 156th).
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Wendy Woll, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Jimenez, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Somerset Tech's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Dunellen, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Somerset Tech will head out on the road to take on Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dunellen, they will be playing at home against Piscataway Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Piscataway Vo-Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
