Baseball Recap: Lake Braddock Wins Going Away Against Annandale

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lake Braddock walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Annandale Atoms on Tuesday. Considering the Bruins have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lake Braddock got a massive performance out of Evan George, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave George a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Schaeb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Lake Braddock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lake Braddock's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Annandale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Lake Braddock will square off against Mount Vernon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bruins 3.5, the Majors 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Annandale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
