It was a good run, but the Girard Academic Music Program Pioneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 55-40 to Philadelphia Academy Charter. Girard Academic Music Program was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Philadelphia Academy Charter found their leader in underclassman Jordan Benzenhafer, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Benzenhafer has scored at least a third of Philadelphia Academy Charter's points. Jordan Brennan-Melo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Girard Academic Music Program dropped their record down to 7-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Girard Academic Music Program will head out on the road to square off against the at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, they will play host again and welcome the Lion, where tip off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Swenson Arts & Tech will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
