Basketball Game Preview: Treasure Coast Titans vs. Vero Beach Indians

Treasure Coast hasn't had much luck against Vero Beach recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Treasure Coast Titans will welcome the Vero Beach Indians at 6:00 p.m. Treasure Coast will be strutting in after a win while Vero Beach will be coming in after a loss.

Treasure Coast is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Okeechobee: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Treasure Coast blew Okeechobee out of the water with a 59-16 final score. With the Titans ahead 30-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Taliyah Brown was nothing short of spectacular: she went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Justice Alexis was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Vero Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lincoln Park Academy. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 23rd).

Vero Beach's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Treasure Coast, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Treasure Coast couldn't quite finish off Vero Beach when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 34-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Vero Beach's Ekklesia Anderson, who posted 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
